Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for alpha-SMA. α-SMA is an actin. Further, it is an intracellular protein that has both contractility and can aggregate into microfilaments, which are essential for the structure, motility and formation of skeletal cells. α-SMA, like all actins, is extremely conserved and is found in almost all mammals.
Application Notes (Clone): The antibody specifically detected α-SMA protein by Western blot analysis. The antibody 8E5D12A9 and the commercial antibody 1A4 were used to stain leiomyomas and leiomyosarcoma. Results showed the antibody specificity is comparable to the commercial antibody. Further, the sensitivity of the antibody 8E5D12A9 was higher than the commercial antibody. The antibody and the commercially available antibody 1A4 were simultaneously detected on the normal tissue chip, indicating that the specificity of the antibody in normal tissue was equivalent to that of the commercially available antibody (CN113845593A).
