Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for blood group antigen A.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody was used in a quantitative precipitin assay, a hemagglutination assay (HA), inhibition assays (by ELISA). In the HA with human erythrocytes, the antibody reacted with the A₁ and A₂ subtypes (showing double the sensitivity towards the A₁ subtype) (Chen and Kabat, 1985; PMID: 2414276). The structure of the scFv version of this antibody was determined via crystallization (Thomas et al., 2002; PMID: 11679577).
