Antigen Long Description: Rat resident peritoneal cells injected into BALB/c mice.

Buffer Composition: PBS only.

Chimeric Use Statement: This chimeric rat antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original Mouse IgG2a format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.

Uniprot Accession No.: P97710

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds to rat SIRP alpha, which is selectively expressed by myeloid and neuronal cells.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody binds to SIRP alpha, and can consequently be used to label neuronal cells and myeloid cells, namely macrophages, monocytes, granulocutes and dendritic cells, in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical studies (Robinson, 1986). Anti-SIRP ligation induces nitric oxide synthesis and oxidative burst in macrophages (Adams, 1998).
