Specificity Statement: This antibody binds an epitope 'DPRVRGLYF' (amino acids 131-141) of the pre-S2 region of the hepatitis B virus. Hepatitis B is a potentially life-threatening liver infection caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV). It can cause chronic infection and puts people at high risk of death from cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Application Notes (Clone): The binding reactivity and affinity of this antibody towards HBV pre-S2 protein was determined using ELISA. The original mouse IgG1 version of this antibody was reported to bind pre-S2 protein of HBV with a binding affinity of Kd= 1.2 nM (PMID: 10509818).
