Specificity Statement: The antibody is specific for the E domain of the non-structural protein-1. The antibody reacts with viruses belonging to different subtypes and types including avian H5N1, swine H1N1 and H3N2, human H1N1 and H3N2 and influenza B virus. Non-structural protein-1 (NS1) is a multifunctional and conserved protein of influenza viruses. It is produced at the initial phase of the infection for suppressing and evading the host immune responses and enhancing the viral replication.
Application Notes (Clone): The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The antibody detected the E domain of NS1 by western blot analysis. The original format of the antibody inhibited influenza virus replication in the infected MDCK cells. The clone could enter the influenza virus infected cells and interfered with the NS1 activities leading to replication inhibition of viruses belonging to different subtypes and types including avian H5N1, swine H1N1 and H3N2, human H1N1 and H3N2 and influenza B virus (Yodsheewan et al. 2013; PMID: 23928258).
