Antigen Long Description: The original hybridoma was generated by fusing islet-infiltrating B lymphocytes collected from F1(NODxNOR) mouse developing insulitis and the NS-1 myeloma cell line in polyethylene glycol (PEG).

Buffer Composition: PBS only.

Uniprot Accession No.: P15331

Specificity Statement: This antibody binds mouse peripherin, but also cross reacts with human and rat peripherin. Peripherin is a type III intermediate filament protein expressed mainly in neurons of the peripheral nervous system.

Application Notes (Clone): This antibody was used for the immunofluorescence staining of peripherin from cryosections (5 um) of pancreata from NOD.RAG-2/ mice, Sprague Dawley rats, and human cadaveric organ donors. The reactivity of this antibody towards several NOD.RAG-2/ mouse organs was also determined using immunofluorescence staining (PMID: 15616012).
