Specificity Statement: This antibody is specific for the Vglut1 protein. The antibody does not cross-react with VGlut2 or VGlut3. Vglut1 mediates the uptake of glutamate into synaptic vesicles at presynaptic nerve terminals of excitatory neural cells. May also mediate the transport of inorganic phosphate.
Application Notes (Clone): Immunofluorescense was preformed on the brain of mice and rats using this antibody (Lindhoff et al, 2009; PMID:19285470) (Garcia-Pino et al, 2009; PMID:20151361) (Takahashi et al, 2011; PMID:21262467). This antibody has been used for immunohistochemistry on the brain of a rat (Larsson et al, 2011; PMID:21810784). The antibody was used in a western blot experiment on rat brain extracts (Garcia-Pino et al, 2009; PMID:20151361). Immunocytochemistry has been preformed on normal rat retinas with this antibody (Caminos et al, 2015; PMID:25499209).
