SANTA CRUZ BIOTECHNOLOGY

Santa Cruz is certainly one of the most innovative suppliers of antibodies and offers its product line for applications such as immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry (also suitable for paraffin), but also for flow cytometry and veterinary science.

Aktin (I-19): sc-1616

The growing range of well-characterized monoclonal antibodies against mammalian and non-mammalian target sequences currently numbers over 50,000. The monoclonal antibodies are unconjugated, but also available as common enzyme and fluorochrome conjugates. For Santa Cruz monoclonal antibodies, many samples are also available for testing.

Besides the wide range of primary antibodies, Santa Cruz also offers secondary monoclonal antibodies and recombinant binding proteins. Binding proteins act as innovative secondary antibodies against mouse immunoglobulins. The secondary antibodies and binding proteins are also available as common conjugates.

Actin (I-19): sc-1616

In the area of Gene Silencer Santa Cruz has a very wide range of different technologies like siRNA and shRNA products and CRISPR/Cas9 plasmids.

GENETEX

GeneTex Logo

GeneTex is an internationally recognized manufacturer of research antibodies and immunology reagents, which are used both in science and R&D. The company is located in Irvine, California, south of Los Angeles.

GeneTex was founded in 1997 by three scientists with a high level of expertise in oncology, tumor biology and infectious diseases. GeneTex's first product focus was on cancer research, specifically on tumor biology and prognostic tumor markers.

Over time, the product portfolio has grown to a considerable number of immunological reagents and GeneTex currently covers all major research areas.

GeneTex offers antibodies and immunological reagents for the following life science areas:

  • Cancer research
  • Cell Biology
  • Epigenetics
  • Immunology
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Metabolism
  • Neuroscience
  • Signal Pathways
  • Stem Cell Research
  • Zebrafish biology

Today, GeneTex is one of the largest antibody producers and has a global distribution network. GeneTex products are subject to reliable quality guidelines and are very popular with research customers.

ATLAS ANTIBODIES

Atlas Logo

The Swedish biotech company ATLAS Antibodies has a special founding history: scientists of the Human Protein Atlas Project founded the company in 2003. In the course of this ambitious research project, a panel of high-quality antibodies for all human proteins was developed, which ATLAS Antibodies makes available to all researchers.

Humans have approximately 20,000 sequences in their genome that code for proteins. ATLAS Antibodies offers 18,000 antibodies for a total of 15,000 proteins and approximately 19,000 proteins as standards for mass spectrometry.

Critical to the success of the project was the availability of highly specific antibodies for all human proteins, which could only be produced using a standardized manufacturing process with strict quality controls.

ATLAS Antibodies provides the following quality products:

  • Atlas Antibodies Advanced Polyclonals (Triple A Polyclonals): polyclonal antibodies for immunohistochemistry, westen blot and immunofluorescence
  • PrecisA Monoclonals: for immunohistochemistry, western blot and immunofluorescence
  • PrEST blocking antigens and positive controls
  • QPrEST Product Line: Quantification Standards for Mass Spectrometry

CEDARLANE

Cedarlane Logo

On request, it is also possible to obtain antibodies in bulk or as customized products.

Cedarlane's primary antibodies cover many different but also specific areas such as factor VIII or its carrier protein, of the Von Willebrand factor. Many renowned customers of Szabo-Scandic rely on the high quality and low lot-to-lot variation of these product lines. The focus of the antibodies is clearly on anti-human, -mouse and -rat reactivity, although there are also very "exotic" antibodies (e.g. against tuna). The primary antibodies are either purified or conjugated (biotin, FITC and PE).

In addition, Cedarlane also offers secondary antibodies of very high quality. These antibodies are affinity purified and adsorbed to prevent unwanted cross reactions. Secondary antibodies are available for flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blot, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry. Many of the secondary antibodies are also available as F(ab')2 fragments, which reduces non-specific binding of such antibodies.

The Custom Antibody Service is also part of Cedarlane's product portfolio, which is constantly being expanded due to high demand. This requires project-specific data such as the amino acid sequence of the epitope, phosphorylated epitope, host, required amount of antibody, without or with conjugate (various fluorochromes, biotin, HRP, other carrier proteins) and for which application the antibody should be suitable.

The customer will receive a cost estimate with a time schedule and will be kept informed about the status of production when the order is placed.

Cedarlane also offers an extensive range of recombinant proteins, as well as antibodies to complement components, regulators and receptors, which are also available in various formats.

Cedarlane furthermore produces "FLAER", which is used in the diagnostic field for the detection of PNH (paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria). You can find more information about this in the section Special Diagnostics - FLAER.

VECTOR LABORATORIES INC.

VECTOR Laboratories offers an attractive range of secondary antibodies for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence with high and continuous product quality. In general, Vector's product lines are characterized by their high sensitivity, low background, reliability and reproducibility.

Vector's secondary antibodies are developed for immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry, but they can also be used for ELISAs and various blots. These antibodies are affinity-purified and then further processed by solid phase adsorption. This produces antibodies with high affinity and no cross-reactivity. The conjugates are bound in a way that does not change the specificity and affinity of the antibody.

In addition, Vector offers control antibodies from rabbit, mouse, rat and goat, with which the staining of the primary antibody can be controlled for specificity.

As an alternative to conventional fluorophores such as fluorescein (FITC) and rhodamine, Vector also offers DyLight® fluorophores.

These new DyLight® fluorescent dyes have the advantage that they are more photostable and have a more intense fluorescence. The new fluorophores are available as conjugates with affinity-purified secondary antibodies and streptavidin. This offers a wide range of applications for the detection/visualization of antigens in cells or tissues.

The DyLight product range includes DyLight 488 (green), DyLight 549 (orange), DyLight 594 (red) and DyLight 649 (far red = between red and infra red). The excitation and emission spectra correspond to other commercially available fluorophores, so they can be easily replaced by DyLight fluorophores without any effort, which means that neither protocols nor instrumental settings need to be changed.

In addition to antibodies (primary antibodies, secondary antibodies, antibodies with fusion tags and labels) Vector also offers the following product solutions:

  • ABC (Avidin-Biotin Complex) Kits
  • Biotin and Avidin/Streptavidin reagents
  • Enzyme substrates
  • Accessories for IHC and IF (e.g.: VECTASHIELD® Mounting Media)
  • Lectins & Glycobiology Reagents
  • Blocking Reagents
  • Bioconjugation Reagents In Situ Hybridization Detection
  • Affinity Binding Matrices
