With safety cabinets class 1, user protection is paramount. The room air is sucked in in the area of the front opening and leaves the device after being filtered.
With microbiological safety cabinets class 2, part of the filtered air is blown downwards in a laminar flow. The room air sucked in in the area of the front opening is directed upwards below the work area, cleaned by a HEPA filter and returned to the work surface. The recirculating, sterile air flow guarantees product and user protection.
Compared to safety cabinets class 2, safety cabinets class 3 offer additional user protection and enables work with dangerous class 4 pathogens. The safety workbench is completely closed. The supply and exhaust air is routed through HEPA filters.
Cytostatic safety cabinets enable the handling of cytostatic drugs through special user and environmental protection. The special design basically has the same safety precautions as a safety cabinet class 2, but has an additional third HEPA filter below the work surface.
