Background: This gene encodes a member of the desmoglein family and cadherin cell adhesion molecule superfamily of proteins. Desmogleins are calcium-binding transmembrane glycoprotein components of desmosomes, cell-cell junctions between epithelial, myocardial, and other cell types. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate the mature glycoprotein. This gene is present in a gene cluster with other desmoglein gene family members on chromosome 18. Mutations in this gene have been associated with arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia, familial, 10. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]

Description: Recombinant Human DSG2(50-609) Protein with C-terminal 6×His tag

Molecular Weight: The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 63.3 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of DSG2(50-609)-His is approximately 70-100 kDa due to glycosylation.

Storage & Shipping: Store at -20°C to -80°C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -80°C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing). Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature.

Tag: C-6×His Tag

Expression Host: HEK293

Formulation & Reconstitution: Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4. Normally 5 % - 8% trehalose is added as protectants before lyophilization. Please see Certificate of Analysis for specific instructions of reconstitution.

Target: DSG2

Uniprot ID: Q14126

Usage: Research use only

Molecular Characterization: DSG2(Ala50-Gly609) 6×His tag

Purity: The purity of the protein is greater than 85% as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining.
