Background: This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family and regulates brain cortical patterning. The encoded protein binds specifically to transglutaminase 2, a component of tissue and tumor stroma implicated as an inhibitor of tumor progression. Mutations in this gene are associated with a brain malformation known as bilateral frontoparietal polymicrogyria. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Description: Recombinant Human GPR56 Protein with C-terminal 6×His tag
Molecular Weight: The protein has a predicted molecular mass of 43.6 kDa after removal of the signal peptide. The apparent molecular mass of GPR56-His is approximately 55-70 kDa due to glycosylation.
Storage & Shipping: Store at -20°C to -80°C for 12 months in lyophilized form. After reconstitution, if not intended for use within a month, aliquot and store at -80°C (Avoid repeated freezing and thawing). Lyophilized proteins are shipped at ambient temperature.
