Background: Menin, also known as MEN1 or SCG2, is a scaffold protein that functions in histone modification and epigenetic gene regulation. It is critical for the formation and stability of protein complexes on chromatin, including the MLL1 (mixed lineage leukemia 1) histone methyltransferase complex. It is thought to play a role in TGF-β1 (transforming growth factor beta 1)-mediated inhibition of cell-proliferation, possibly regulating SMAD3 (mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 3) transcriptional activity. Several menin inhibitors are currently approved for the treatment of cancer, such as revumenib and enzomenib, by targeting the interaction of menin with  MLL proteins. New strategies are under development as potential therapeutics for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Description: Recombinant human full-length Menin, variant 1, amino acids 2-615(end). This construct contains an N-terminal His-tag (6xHis). The recombinant protein was affinity purified.
