Clone Name: GFAP/2076

Light Chain: Kappa

Application Note: WB: 1-2μg/ml. IHC-P: 1-2μg/ml for 30 minutes at RT. *Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher. Not tested in other applications.

Calculated MW: 50

Specificity/Sensitivity: This MAb recognizes a protein of ~50kDa which is identified as Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP). It shows no cross-reaction with other intermediate filament proteins.

Form: Liquid

Buffer (with preservative): 10mM PBS, 0.05% BSA, 0.05% Sodium azide.

Concentration: 0.2 mg/ml (Please refer to the vial label for the specific concentration.)

Background: This gene encodes one of the major intermediate filament proteins of mature astrocytes. It is used as a marker to distinguish astrocytes from other glial cells during development. Mutations in this gene cause Alexander disease, a rare disorder of astrocytes in the central nervous system. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.
