Since our founding in 1963 – originally with a focus on fine chemicals – we have continuously expanded our portfolio. Today, we offer nearly 3 million products along with a wide range of services in the areas of consumables, research reagents, laboratory technology, and diagnostics.
With over 60 years of experience in the Austrian life science market, we stand for quality, service, and reliability. We take particular pride in sourcing hard-to-find products from around the world for our customers.
We collaborate with innovative manufacturers from across Europe and selected international partners, maintaining long-standing business relationships with many of them.
Since 2021, SZABO-SCANDIC has been part of Europa Biosite, a leading European distribution company for life science products. This merger also includes amsbio in the UK, USA and the Netherlands, Biomol in Germany, Cambridge Bioscience in the UK and Ireland, Nordic Biosite in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Sanbio in Benelux and LubioScience in Switzerland.
In addition, we are listed as a supplier on the Scientist.com,a leading marketplace for scientific products and services. This platform allows us to offer our products and services directly to the Austrian research and scientific community, while further strengthening collaboration between researchers.
Behind SZABO-SCANDIC is a dedicated team with extensive experience, expertise, and a hands-on mindset. Many of our employees have been part of the company for years and are deeply familiar with the needs and workflows of our customers.
Together with our technical solutions, we reliably manage even complex and highly individual challenges.
Our management team consists of the Head of Sales, who is responsible for sales, and the Head of Internal Services, who is in charge of operations and customer service. Together, they ensure close collaboration and optimal support for our customers.
The sales team serves research institutions, laboratories, and clinics throughout Austria. Since mid-2025, we have been organized regionally to provide our customers in their respective provinces with even more personal and efficient service. Our contacts are highly competent, easily accessible, and ready to assist with advice and support.

Laurent Haze
The data management team maintains a comprehensive product portfolio in the webshop and ensures up-to-date and accurate product information. The technical lead for e-commerce and data management is responsible for platform performance and the ongoing development of our online shop. In parallel, IT/system administration ensures stable IT infrastructure operations and supports all departments with innovative ideas and solutions.
The finance and HR department ensures reliable accounting, transparent billing, and a committed, motivated team through dedicated personnel support.
Our cleaning staff ensures a clean and pleasant working environment and takes care of the well-maintained courtyard garden – including a vegetable patch – so that all employees can feel completely comfortable.
